Do you charge per user?
Never. Every plan is one flat price for the whole organization, however many people play. A 200-person team on Team pays $15/mo; on per-user or participant-tier apps the same team typically pays $200–400/mo.
What happens to our data?
Game data stays on our EU servers. We store workspace and channel IDs, display names and game answers — no message content, and in DMs only your answers. Analytics on this site are self-hosted and cookieless. Full details in the privacy policy.
Which platforms are supported?
Slack, Discord and Telegram, all three shipping at launch, plus Mattermost and other chat tools through a small connector your IT team sets up. We’re in private beta right now; join the waitlist and you’ll get the install links the day we open up. MS Teams comes after launch.
Can we cancel anytime?
Yes — month-to-month or annual, your pick. Cancel anytime from the dashboard; your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. No calls, no retention maze.
How do questions stay fresh?
New questions on current topics arrive every day. Each one passes an automated screen before it goes live, and anything flagged waits for a human. Every question has a report button, so a bad one gets pulled fast.
Can we play on Mattermost or our own chat?
Yes. Mattermost has a ready-made connector: your IT team runs it on one of your servers, and you play the same games on the Team plan. Any other chat needs a connector of its own, which a developer can build from our docs. Custom chats open with everything else at launch.
Setting it up takes your IT person about an hour. They’ll need:
- Admin access to Mattermost’s System Console, to add a bot account and the /hijinks command. The bot gets the System Admin role so it can send replies only one person sees.
- A small server that runs Node 20 or Docker. It needs either its own HTTPS web address, or, if your Mattermost is intranet-only, just outbound access to the internet.
- For word games, a channel just for playing: every message there is passed to Hijinks, which ignores anything that isn’t an answer.
How do invoices and tax work?
Prices are in US dollars. Stripe is our merchant of record: it runs checkout, adds the sales tax or VAT that applies where you are, and issues the invoice. A business with a valid VAT ID gets reverse charge, so no VAT is added. Every invoice is in the billing portal, one click from the Billing page in your dashboard.
One account, several workspaces?
Yes. One plan covers every workspace your organization connects. One Hijinks account can belong to as many workspaces as you like, on Slack, Discord, Telegram or a chat you connect. Link your Slack and Discord sign-ins on your account page and every workspace shows up in one dashboard. Each keeps its own roles and settings, and you can leave one without touching the others.
